Flowing gently down the stream

 Welcome to the Building Bridges blog. As part of the "Benchmark' exhibition 2012 . I in collaboration with another artist and the community I am trying to knit a stream 3/4 of a mile long. This exhibition Is in it's tenth year and is run in conjunction with The Arts University College Bournemouth and BournemouthBorough council's arts development and the parks and country side departments. The piece is called "Building bridges" the idea to create a community project for all ages from Bournemouth and beyond. The project started on the 19th February 2012 once we were informed we were chosen. The exhibition runs from 27th April-7th May. so we have a short window for knitting. I am asking as many people as possible to get their knitting/crochet needles out and knit knit knit etc. 3/4 of a mile can be achieved I have always been ambitious. The brief for anyone who wants to have a go is 35 stitches across using any size needles, any texture, any pattern. The more creative the better. I am intending to log our progress at present the piece is about 30ft long but I have quite a few people knitting and as the lengths come in. The piece gets longer.
